'me' moments

I believe that as a mom 'me' moments are as important as they were when i wasn't a mom. They really make me a better, nicer and happier person/mom with more patience. I use those moments to 'reload' my battery. Because of the lack of sleep that you experience in the first few months, you are exhausted so one way or the other you will have to also take time for yourself! Drink your tea while it's still hot!, read a magazine, lie down, watch your favorite soap or whatever YOU need!

Usually after a few months (in my case three) i was able to sleep several hours in a row. The funny thing is that i was still in a rhythm of waking up every three hours, but after a few nights i slept (big yay!). But even now i still go to bed early so that i will make my (8) hours ;)

Most of the time that Bodhi is taking a nap during the day i don't spend that time cleaning the house, doing the laundry or that kind of stuff. I do yoga, some reading or crafting and sometimes i take a little nap. I've accepted that not everything goes as i've planned & in my case that also means that i have less time for crafting :( So sorry sweet readers, i wasn't able to make a valentine diy this year.

This weekend i've been out to dinner with a sweet girlfriend of mine and yesterday afternoon i went to an pregnancy event, where a famous Dutch pianist played and two Dutch readers came to tell about their books. I helped promoting pregnancy yoga lessons with my yoga teacher and we also were able to follow the program :) So my weekend was also filled with yay! me moments ❤ And what did you do this weekend? Ik vind dat de 'mij' momentjes als moeder net zo belangrijk zijn als toen ik nog geen moeder was. Ze zorgen er ook voor dat ik een leuker, blijer persoon/mama ben met meer geduld. Ik gebruik die momentjes om mijn batterij weer even op te laden. Het slaapgebrek van de eerste maanden is slopend, omdat je echt minder slaapt dan je normaal zou doen of willen. Dus neem ook dan tijd voor jezelf! Drink je thee terwijl ie nog warm is, lees een tijdschrift, kijk je favo soap of wat je dan ook maar nodig hebt voor JEZELF!

Meestal kun je na een paar maandjes (in mijn geval 3) weer wat langer doorpitten. Het grappige was dat ik in het begin in zo'n ritme zat dat ik toch steeds om de drie uur wakker werd, maar na een paar nachten was dat ook over en kon ik slapen (HOERA!).

Ik ga nu meestal nog steeds lekker op tijd naar bed zodat ik mijn 8 uurtjes kan maken ;) Als Bodhi overdag een slaapje doet ga ik niet als een gek het huis schoonmaken, wassen of dergelijke dingen. Ik probeer dan echt even ruimte voor mezelf te nemen door bijv. yoga te doen, lekker te lezen en soms doe ik ook nog wel eens even mijn oogjes dicht ;) Ik heb geaccepteerd dat niet alles gaat zoals ik het gepland had en ook dat ik dus niet toe kom aan lekker frobelen :( Duzzz helaas ook geen valentijns diy dit jaar.

Afgelopen weekend ben ik lekker met een vriendin uiteten geweest en gister ben ik naar het evenement 'Verwachtingsvol' in theater de Kom geweest. Een middag voor zwangere vrouwen, met optreden van Jan Vayne en boekpresentaties van Susan Smit en Bastiaan Ragas. Ik was hier om samen met mijn yogadocente zwangerschapsyoga te promoten. Het leuke was dat wij ook het programma konden volgen dus de lezingen en het prachtige improvisatie spel van Jan Vayne konden beluisteren. Voor manlief heb ik het boek van Bastiaan Ragas gekocht 'Maar je krijgt er wel heel veel voor terug', natuurlijk gesigneerd! Al met al een heerlijk weekend dat gevuld was met 'mij' momentjes ❤ En wat heb jij van het weekend gedaan? Liefs, Vera

Slice Fabrique

Hello hello :o) time to share another great (scrap)tool. A year ago i bought the Slice, a great cutting machine that cuts through paper and foam. The webshop where i bought it wasn't very clear of the options and i thought that it was also possible to make shapes of fabric, but sadly that wasn't the case. I recently saw this 'new' version and was sold. I still have my other machine, that i will be selling ;) I really can't wait to try this one out & make lot's of pretties and of course show you! I also bought the slice design card 'Frenzy' that has great shapes of animals that are awesome to use on t-shirts. Beneath i have a instruction video in Dutch (and those are hard to find!), so sorry for my foreign readers! But if you look at you tube you will find one easily. And are you sold too?

Hallo hallo :o) tijd om weer eens een leuk (scrap) apparaat te bekijken. Een jaar geleden heb ik de Slice gekocht, een geweldige snijmachine die door oa papier en foam kan snijden. De webshop voorlichting was helaas iets minder goed en ik was in de veronderstelling dat ik ook door stof kon snijden, maar helaas... Onlangs zag ik deze versie van de Slice en die gaat wel door stof! Ik was direct verkocht, ondanks dat mijn andere slice nog verkocht moet worden ;) Ik kan niet wachten om dit apparaat uit te proberen en mooie dingetjes te maken, die ik dan natuurlijk ook weer aan jou kan laten zien! Ik heb ook de Slice design kaart 'Frenzy' gekocht, die heeft onwijs leuke dieren vormen die weer te gek zijn om op t-shirten te bevestigen. I just can't believe how fast this past year has gone by. Our son already turned 1! He isn't a tiny baby anymore but already a little person. It's so wonderful to see ❤ A year ago we named him Elian but when he almost turned one we both had the feelin' that his third name Bodhi suits him better. Maybe a weird decision for the world around us, but for us it feels like a natural one.

Anyway... just wanted to show you some peeks of my finally! finished belly book. In this album i've collected my belly pictures and also all of the postcards that i've received during my pregnancy. I used a chipboard book from My mind's eye (fine and dandy, tickled pink line). I really love the fine and dandy line, so cute. And since i have a boy and won't be scrapping much in pink, i really wanted to make my belly book in pink :) I love how it turned out.

Ongelooflijk hoe hard het afgelopen jaar voorbij is gegaan. Onze zoon is gewoon al 1 geworden en inmiddels geen kleine baby meer, maar echt een persoontje. Het is wonderlijk om dat te zien ❤ Een jaar geleden hebben we hem Elian genoemd, maar toen hij bijna 1 werd waren we van mening dat zijn derde naam Bodhi beter bij hem past. Misschien een rare beslissing voor de buitenwereld, maar voor ons voelt het zoals het moet zijn.

Maar.... wat ik wilde laten zien zijn foto's van belly book, wat eindelijk klaar is. In dit album heb ik foto's van mijn groeiende buik verwerkt en ook alle kaartjes die ik ontvangen heb tijdens mijn zwangerschap. Ik heb een chipboard boekje gebruikt van My mind's eye (fine and dandy, tickled pink line). Tja met een jongetje in huis zal ik toch minder roze scrapboekjes maken en daarom heb ik mijn eigen boekje mooi in het roze gemaakt :) Ik ben er helemaal blij mee.

Sit down and relax

At the 19th of January i started following a course Mindfulness. In this course you have to meditate every day, so i wanted to have a little space where i can sit during these meditations. I have noticed that doing these meditations daily is easier then doing things mindful during the day. Taking your first bite of a meal mindful mmmm oh i forgot... i'm already half way lol or brushing your teeth and doing nothing else is more difficult then you think. The monkey brain is keeping us humans pretty busy. I still have a few more weeks left to practice :) Enjoy your Sunday. XO. Vera

Op 19 januari ben ik begonnen met een cursus Mindfulness. Tijdens deze cursus is het de bedoeling dat je iedere dag mediteert & daarom heb ik een klein plekje voor mezelf ingericht waar ik lekker relaxed kan zitten. Ik heb gemerkt dat het doen van de formele oefeningen (de dagelijkse meditaties) me makkelijker afgaat dan de informele oefeningen. Tijdens de informele oefeningen moet je gedurende dag meerdere keren op je ademhaling letten, de eerste hap van je eten mindful beleven etc. Ik heb al vaak dat ik halverwege de maaltijd ben en dan denk oh ja ha ha. Iets echt met aandacht doen is best lastig zonder dat je gedachten overal naar toe gaan. De 'monkey brain' houdt ons mensen lekker bezig. Ik heb nog een paar oefenweekjes te gaan :) Hele fijne zondag. XO. Vera

Yay i've finished my bday present on time :) Tomorrow Zinne is turning 1 and i've spend some time behind the sewingmachine to make her own fabric letters. Two of them have little bells inside, so they jingle :) I'm totally happy with the result and think that i will be making my own. I will be putting these letters as an example on my website. Jeeee, ik ben op tijd klaar met mijn verjaardagscadeautje :) Morgen wordt Zinne 1 jaar en ik ben daarvoor achter de naaimachine gekropen om stoffen letters van haar naam te maken. In twee letters heb ik ook belletjes gestopt, dus die tingelen als je ze schudt. Ik ben erg blij met het resultaat en denk dat ik ze ook voor ons kereltje ga maken. You will need:

-cupcake liners (10 a ball)

-glue

-yarn

-(paper) balloons

fold them and keep the pretty side on the inside

and glue them together

cut a piece of yarn as long as you want your garland to be

add it like this and glue the last ones together

and one ball is finished

i've made 8 of these balls and hung three cute paper

jellyfish balloons in between.

Unfortunately i don't have much time to craft and ideas are floating around in my mind.... I do write them down as quickly as i can and hope that i can make them soooon :) I have half projects lying around all over the place and on of them is a mobile with cute felt balls that i'm making for Elian. I can't show you mine (yet) but i found some great ideas on Pinterest :)

Helaas heb ik zo weinig tijd om te knutselen en dat terwijl mijn hoofd overloopt van ideeen.... Ik schrijf ze iedere keer zo snel mogelijk hoop in de hoop dat ik snel lekker kan 'craften' (echt een veel leuker wordt dan knutselen!). Ik heb een hoop half afgemaakte projecten liggen, waaronder een mobile met vilten ballen die ik aan het maken ben voor Elian. Mijn mobile is nog verre van af dus die kan ik helaas niet laten zien, maar ik heb wel hele leuke andere ideetjes op Pinterest gevonden :)

Balance

Finding balance is (i think) a challenge for everyone, but especially when you're a mom. I do notice a big difference, comparing to the time that Elian was just a tiny tiny baby. He is almost turning 1 (25th of January) and i just want to say to all moms out there, it's all getting easier, really :) I know it sounds a bit cliche but it's true.

To stay in balance i also know that yoga and meditation really works for me. On top of that i'm going to start with a mindfulness course of 8 weeks, starting this Thursday. I'm curious about this journey! I'm off making a perfect little meditation and yoga spot for myself & i will leave you with two great books: Buddhism for Mothers from Sarah Napthali and Bringing up your baby from Claire Gillman. Balans vinden is denk ik voor iedereen een uitdaging, zeker als je moeder bent. Inmiddels wordt Elian bijna 1 en dat is al een wereld van verschil met toen hij nog een ieniemienie kleine baby was. En tegen alle mama's wil ik zeggen, hoe cliche het ook klinkt.... het wordt allemaal makkelijker, echt :)

Yoga en meditatie helpen mij om in balans te blijven en ik hoop dat de cursus mindfulness (die komende donderdag begint!) daar een mooie bijdrage aan mag leveren. Ik ga aan de slag met het creeren van een fijne yoga en meditatie plek en wil je graag twee boekentips meegeven, dat zijn Boeddhisme voor moeders van Sarah Napthali en Je baby natuurlijk puur en eerlijk grootbrengen van Claire Gillman. Let's get organised, shall we?

Ever since our little boy was born it's harder for me to stay organised with my household. I've recently read a column of a mom who has a one year old & she wrote that the first year with a baby is fabulous and hard at the same time. The first few months are mostly about sleeping and feeding (every three hours) and that also includes the night!) and that does not only apply for the baby ;) Just when you're little one is sleeping through the night the teeth are kickin' in or they are in the middle of a growth spurt. Between al this you have to clean the livingroom, toilet, change the sheets, do the groceries etc. I'm not complaining here! I'm happy that my son is healthy, happy and very easy and that makes it a whole lot easier! You just have to let things go. When he wants to play, play with him and don't think about all the things that you 'have' to do. Sometimes you just have to ask yourself is it really necessary to do it now, or can it wait (for a while)? I'm already lookin' forward to spring days with open windows and the fresh smell of blossoms in the air, that makes cleaning a lot nicer right :D

Sinds de geboorte van onze kleine man, is het voor mij lastiger om het huishouden . Ik las pas een column van Georgina Verbaan in 'Jij & je kinderen' waarin ze schreef dat het eerste jaar met een kleine fantastisch maar ook pittig is. De eerste maanden ben je voornamelijk bezig met slapen & voeden (elke 3 uur, ja ja ook 's nachts!) en dat geldt niet alleen voor de baby ;) Net als je blij bent dat de kleine de nacht doorslaapt, komen de tandjes door of zit je midden in een groeispurt. Tussendoor moet je dan nog je huis schoonmaken, boodschappen doen etc. Mij hoor je niet klagen hoor! Ik ben heel blij dat ik een gezonde, blije en makkelijke zoon heb, dat maakt het allemaal een stuk minder zwaar. Loslaten is hier het key woord. Als je kind wil spelen, speel dan met hem en denk dan niet aan alles wat je nog 'moet' doen. Vraag je af of het nu inderdaad ook moet of kan het ook wel (even) wachten? Ik kijk al uit naar de lentedagen waarop je ramen kunt open gooien en de kamers gevuld worden met een heerlijke bloesemlucht, dat maakt het schoonmaken toch een stuk leuker :D

My birthday is coming up...

While working on my 2012 goal list (that i will be posting soon!), i first will be celebrating my birthday! Coming Thursday the 5th i will be turning 34 (yes, really!). When i turned 33 i was at the end of my pregnancy do i didn't really celebrated it (which was totally fine). This year however i want to have a little party with close family and friends & make a chocolate fudge cake. The chocolate fudge cake recipe that i'm going to use is from this cute book 'Dinerdiva in the city'. The illustrations are made by Jill who has a superdoeper cute blog at my life is sweet. Wishing you a lovely first week of 2012 ❤

Terwijl ik de eerste hand leg aan mijn 2012 goal lijstje (die ik snel zal posten!), is het eerst tijd om mijn verjaardag te vieren! A.s donderdag 5 januari wordt deze dame alweer 34 (ja echt!). Vorig jaar was ik hoogzwanger en heb ik mijn verjaardag niet echt gevierd, wat ik helemaal prima vond. Dus dit jaar is het weer tijd voor een klein feestje met directe familie en vrienden & natuurlijk voor een eigengemaakte chocolade fudge taart. Het recept van de taart komt uit dit superleuke boek 'Dinerdiva in de city'. De illustraties zijn gemaakt door Jill. Als je het leuk vindt kun je ook op haar leuke blog kijken my life is sweet (het is in het Nederlands:-). Ik wens je een mooie week toe, de eerste van 2012 ❤

You will need:

-chalkboard adhesive foil/ plakfolie krijtbord

-chalk/ krijt

- (star) punch/ (ster) pons

-scissors/ schaar

I've chosen not to make the hole round but about 3/4 part. I've cut out a strip of chalkboard foil. Then i made a pretty border by cutting it in waves. There are special scissors that cute all kinds of shapes. If you find it difficult to cut just like that, draw a line on the back ;) Then i've punched the star out of the foil on the left side & then added my name with chalk. If you like you can also use the punched out star and stick it on a gift, or use it as a table sitting and stick it on a plate.

Ik heb gekozen om het folie ongeveer voor 3/4 deel op het glas te plakken. Je knipt een brede strook uit het plakfolie en als je het leuk vindt kun je ook een golfrand knippen aan de onderkant. Er zijn scharen die allerlei verschillende randjes kunnen knippen. Enne als je het lastig vindt om dit zo uit de losse pols te knippen, teken je gewoon op de achterkant een lijntje ;) Daarna heb ik de ster uitgeponst aan de linkerkant & toen mijn naam erop geschreven. Je kunt het uitgeponste sterretje nog gebruiken voor op een cadeautje of voor de tafelschikking dmv m op een bord te plakken.

I used to make these with the kids in my class & hung them on the ceiling :) It's fun to make these yourself & if you like to make them with (your) kids it's doable about the age of 7. They are also very pretty to make with felt! Happy crafting :)

Ik maakte deze sneeuwsterren altijd met de kinderen in de klas. Lintje en paperclipje eraan en je wipte ze zo tussen de plafondplaten. Leuk om zelf te maken of met (je) kinderen, wat zeker te doen is vanaf ongeveer 7 jaar. Ook heel leuk om met vilt te maken! Veel knutselplezier :)

DIY -headband with felt holly leafs-

You will need:

-two colors of green felt / vilt in twee verschillende kleuren vilt

-green yarn / groene wol

-crochet hook / haaknaald

-scissors / schaar

-4 little Christmas bells / 4 kerstbelletjes (hema)

-needle / naald

-embroidery thread / borduurgaren

draw 4 holly leafs on the back of your felt with a marker/

teken 4 hulstblaadjes op de achterkant van je vilt met een edding

cut them out on the inside of the lines!

knip ze uit aan de binnenkant van de lijntjes!

i've crocheted a headband with two pieces of green yarn

and did about 100 single crochets. if you don't know how to

this, you can also use a piece of ribbon :)

Ik heb een haarband gehaakt van ongeveer 100 losse,

met twee verschillende kleuren groen. Als je niet kunt haken

kun je ook een mooi groen lint gebruiken :)

Time to sew your holly leafs and decorations bells on to your crochet headband (or ribbon) using a piece of embroidery thread. Place your holly leafs over your yarn piece & begin with sewing the first one on by using a backstitch. Then your two bells, the next holly leaf, your other leaf, two bells and your last leaf all by using the backstitch. So to be clear, your stitching and sewing them on to your crochet headband at the same time!

Tijd om de hulstblaadjes en belletjes aan je gehaakte haarband (of lint) te bevestigen mbv van borduurgaren. Leg je blaadjes op je haarband en als ze naar je zin liggen, laat je er 1 liggen die je vast gaat maken met een stiksteek. Dan bevestig je je twee belletjes, een hulstblaadje, weer een hulstblaadje, twee belletjes en weer een hulstblaadje. Je borduurt dus de nerf en bevestigd tegelijk de blaadjes op je gehaakte haarband!

DIY -doily heart garland-

To make this doily garland you will need:

- heart shaped doilies (5 big ones, 4 smaller ones)

-embroidery thread in a matching color

-needle

Voor het maken van deze hartjes slinger heb je nodig:

-hartjes doilies (5 grote en 4 kleine)

- borduurgaren in matchende kleur

-naald

Most doilies already have enough 'holes' were you can stick your needle through and that's what i did. I started with a big heart, then a smaller and so on and so on. When you are done check if both sides have enough embroidery thread left to hang it exactly where you want :) I used silver washi tape to secure the doily heart garland on the wall.

De meeste doilies hebben al genoeg gaatjes waar je een naald door kunt steken en dat heb ik ook gedaan. Ik ben begonnen met een groot hart, daarna een kleintje etc. Als je klaar bent kijk dan even of je aan beide kanten nog genoeg draad over hebt, zodat je de slinger ook op kunt hangen waar je wil. Ik heb zilver washi tape gebruikt om de slinger aan de muur te hangen.

Als je niet gewonnen hebt, vind je het misschien wel leuk om er eentje zelf te maken. Ik heb even mijn oude 'post' opgezocht van een jaar geleden, zodat je even kunt zien hoe het ook alweer ging :D Ipv sterren kun je ook andere glitter figuurtjes van foam gebruiken. De Hema verkoopt hele leuke pakketjes met hartjes, bloemetjes etc. Ook errug leuk om als cadeautje voor iemand te maken ❤

You will need/ je hebt nodig

- a crochethook/ haaknaald

- silver yarn and thicker purple yarn/ wol in zilver en paars

-purple stars from foam/ paarse glitter sterren van foam

-needle/ naald

-embroidery thread/ borduurgaren

If you don't know how to crochet, just look

over at you tube and you will find lot's of

instruction videos how to do so.

Use two pieces of yarn and make 60 singles.

Now add the foam purple stars by using your

embroidery thread and secure them with

a single stitch. Make sure they are tight,

but not to tight!

Gebruik twee draden om mee te haken en haak

60 enkele. Je borduurt de foam sterren erop mbv

borduurdraad met een simpel borduursteekje, maar

let er wel op dat ie goed vastzit!

And you're glittery star headband is ready!

En je haarband is klaar!!

Normally i shoot a few (family) shots and that's it, but this year i wanted to change that. I challenged myself by making more close ups of materials that i use while crafting, things Elian plays with or other little details that i love. I hope to inspire and challenge you too during this Christmas :) I would love to see!!

You will need:

- 8 little decoration bells (i used light pink and silver ones)

- little rings (like right below)

- jasseron (piece of a chain)

- a lock

- jewelry tools

Je hebt nodig:

- 8 kleine decoratie belletjes (die van mij zijn van de hema)

- kleine ringetjes (zie rechtsonder)

- jasseron (stuk ketting, kun je kopen op maat!)

- een slotje & ringetje

- tangenset voor het maken van sieraden

The first step of how to make a bracelet isn't included! I already mad this bracelet way back :) If you do want to know how to make one. Just ask advice at a local store where they sell pretties to make your own jewelry or look on the internet or leave me a comment and i will be happy to help :)

I spreaded out the bracelet and placed the little bells under the jasseron to see how it looked. Then i've added them to the bracelet with the little rings, which you can open easy and close again with your jewelry tools.

Het maken van de armband heb ik niet beschreven. Ik had deze armband al langer geleden gemaakt :) Als je wel wilt weten hoe dat moet, vraag dan advies in een kralenwinkel, kijk op het internet of laat een berichtje achter, ik help je graag :)

Ik heb eerst de armband neergelegd en de belletjes eronder geplaatst voor de verdeling. Daarna heb ik ze vastgemaakt mbv ringetjes, die je gemakkelijk open en dicht kunt buigen met sieraden tangetjes.

diy -letters from branches-

You will need:

- (dry) branches

-spray paint

-glitter spray

-and 'garden scissors'

- normal scissors

-thick thread

Je hebt nodig:

- (droge) takjes

-spray paint

-glitter spray

-snoeischaartje

- gewone schaar

-dik draad

Mix and match the branches and were needed you can cut of parts. Spray paint them, add a layer with the glitter spray & let them dry spray the other side, add glitter spray & let them dry.

Leg de takjes bij elkaar en vorm letters, waar nodig knip je gedeeltes van het takje af. Bespuit ze met verf, daarna glitter spray en laat ze drogen. Daarna de andere kant bespuiten en weer opnieuw laten drogen.

i used the corners to tie the thread. You need to pull it really hard so that's it's stays secure. With the binding you have two sides and if i could i worked in opposite directions and then tied a knot.

I liked it better if the yarn was also in the same color as the branches, so i've spray painted again and of course added some glitter spray too :D

Ik heb de hoeken gebruikt om de takjes samen te binden. Belangrijk is dat je het stevig aan elkaar vastmaakt! Als je de draad vastmaakt heb je twee kanten & als het kon heb ik bewust in tegengestelde richting gewikkeld en tot slot een knoop gemaakt.

Ik vond het mooier als het touw ook dezelfde kleur zou krijgen als de takjes, dus ik heb opnieuw wat verf erover heen gespoten en daarna natuurlijk ook wat glitter spray gebruikt :D

Remember the crochet hearts? I also used them to make a Christmas garland that you can hang on your wall, door or Christmas tree. Personal, easy and fun :)

Herinner je je de gehaakte hartjes nog? Ik heb ze ook gebruikt om een kerstslinger te maken die je op de muur kunt hangen, aan de deur of in de kerstboom. Persoonlijk, makkelijk en leuk :)

You will need:

-pompom yarn

-10 crochet hearts

Je hebt nodig:

-pompom wol

-10 gehaakte hartjes

Just make a loose tie (that you can easily remove them) and add your crochet hearts. Knoop de hartjes zo vast dat je ze weer makkelijk los kunt maken.

Remember this great video? Since i know how to crochet these i've made lots, but what to do with all those cuties :) I'm going to use them as giftwrapping material & for a Christmas garland (that's coming up later). Just make sure to leave a piece of yarn when you finish of, that's all.

I love making mini albums, they are my favorites to make. I really have to get started with Elian's album and finish some other projects. Seeing these peeks reminds me of my own to do list :P Perfect job to do in the fall/winter don't you think?!

How to use the 'sew ribbon'

A while back i already mentioned the 'sew easy' being a great tool. But if you're not a big fan of embroidery the 'sew ribbon' will probably be more your thing :) They have a few different shapes and you can also buy pretty colored ribbon (or use your own!). It's very easy to use, here let me show you!

Een tijdje terug vertelde ik jullie al over de 'sew easy' en hoe leuk die is. Maar als je niet zo'n groot fan bent van borduren dan zou de 'sew ribbon' wat meer voor jou kunnen zijn :) Er zijn een paar verschillende vormen verkrijgbaar en los kun je ook nog mooi gekleurd lint erbij kopen (of natuurlijk die van jezelf gebruiken!). Het is heel makkelijk, kijk maar!

Put your paper between the two shapes.

Bevestig je papier tussen de twee vormen.

With this you are going to press in the lines and through your

paper to make little leafs / Hiermee druk je in de voorgevormde

boogjes en dus door je papier om kleine blaadjes te maken

Remove the green shapes and then your paper will look this.

Verwijder je tool en dan ziet je papier er zo uit.

In the package there are three 'needles'.

In het pakje zitten drie 'naalden'.

Look pretty shades of brown ribbon :)

Kijk, mooi bruine lintjes :)

Remove the white piece and you will have a 'needle' with a

sticky inside / Haal het witte papiertje eraf zodat je een 'naald'

overhoudt met een plakkerige binnenkant.

Just add it to the end of your ribbon /

Bevestig dit om het uiteinde van je lint.

Pull your ribbon through like this.

Trek je lint er doorheen.

Leave a little ribbon on both sides.

Houd aan beide kanten een stukje lint over.

Use tape or glue to secure the ends on both sides.

Gebruik tape of lijm om de uiteinden vast te zetten.

Turn over and tada!! Draai om en tada!!

As promised a diy with the fabric hearts that i've made with the yo-yo heart maker (see two posts back). I was having a hard time getting a good picture of these garlands :P Enjoy!

Zoals beloofd een diy met stoffen hartjes die ik gemaakt heb m.b.v de yo-yo heart maker (zie twee posten terug). Het was wel even lastig om de slingers goed op de foto te krijgen :P Veel plezier!

DIY - Xmas garland with fabric hearts-

You will need:

-three fabric hearts

- 5 'diamants'

-silver ribbon

- 2 (sticker) foam stars

- a silver glittery heart (ikea) or a christmas bauble

-fabric glue

-scissors

Je hebt nodig:

-drie stoffen hartjes

-5 'diamantjes'

-zilver lint (hema)

-2 foam stickers ster (hema)

-een zilveren hartje (ikea) of kerstbal

-textiel lijm

-schaar

Fold the ribbon add some glue between the layers, but leave

the top open! Vouw het lint dubbel en lijm de twee lagen vast,

maar aan de bovenkant een lus!

Add one fabric heart on top with glue.

Doe lijm op je stoffen hartje en bevestig deze op het lint.

Add glue and a little 'diamond'.

Lijm het 'diamantje' vast.

Add the (sticker) foam star and after that another 'diamond'.

Plak daarna het zilveren hartje op het lint en daarna weer

een 'diamantje'.

Add a fabric heart, a 'diamond', another star, 'diamond',

the last fabric heart and one more 'diamond'.

Dan pak je weer een stoffen hartje, daarna een diamantje,

een ster, diamantje, een stoffen hartje en tot slot weer een diamantje.

Pull your ribbon through the top.

Trek het lint door het gaatje van het zilveren hartje.

Add a simple knot. Maak een knoopje.

Cut the end of the ribbon in a little v

En knip daarna in het uiteinde een v-tje

and your Xmas garland is ready ❤

en je Kerstslinger is klaar ❤

Twee weken geleden heb ik deze yo-yo hart maker van Clover gekocht. Inmiddels heb ik al 8 stoffen hartjes gemaakt. Het is echt een onwijs leuk ding om stoffen hartjes mee te maken. De yo-yo maker is niet duur, werkt makkelijk en je hartje is snel klaar. Ideaal om al die restjes stof mee op te maken ;) Woensdag een leuke DIY met deze gemaakte stoffen hartjes :) Clover heeft veel meer leuke dingetjes, kijk maar hier. Ik weet niet of alles ook in Nederland verkrijgbaar is, maar t valt te proberen toch?! This morning i received a little surprise on my doormat. A sweet card and pretty flower earrings from kamiel & odille Thanxx so much! It so wonderful that through bloggin' i have met and made great new online friends and i can't imagine that you wouldn't be here anymore. Even without meeting you, we're having a wonderful time & i have received several sweet gifts. Just wanted to let you know i really appreciate the effort that you are making with sending me cards, gifts, leaving comments or just by reading my blog. Thank you ❤

Vanmorgen viel er een kleine verassing op mijn deurmat. Een lieve kaart en mooie oorbellen van Kamiel & odille Super bedankt!!! Het is geweldig dat ik door het bloggen nieuwe mensen heb leren kennen en sommigen zijn zelfs vriendinnen te noemen, waarvan ik me niet meer kan voorstellen dat jullie er niet meer zouden zijn. Zelfs zonder dat we elkaar ooit ontmoet hebben krijg ik berichtjes, lieve kaartjes en cadeautjes. Ik wil bij deze laten (nogmaals) laten weten dat ik het superlief vind en dit erg waardeer. I'm so in love with coffee cozy's and that his been for while now ❤ I have crocheted 4 coffee cozy's over a year ago and i've sold all of them. They are just perfect for a (handmade) gift. I'm really thinkin' about making these along with different felt flowers to sell at my booth. For a while i have been making so many things and i'm trying to make less so that my booth isn't an explosion for the eye ;) I think i'm going to give this a try and make a few for the market that i have at the 20th of November, what do you think? Ik ben echt al een tijd helemaal weg van coffee cozy's ❤ Een jaar geleden heb ik er 4 gemaakt voor de markt en ze allemaal verkocht. Ze zijn ook zo leuk om cadeau te geven of om zelf te maken natuurlijk :) Ik denk dat ik er meerdere ga maken om te verkopen op de markten, samen met allerlei verschillende bloemen van vilt. ipod case

This has been on my to-do list for a while & i finally made one :) The linen fabric i used from a diy package from a Molly Makes issue. I wanted to make my own style ipod case and this is how it turned out :) At the bottom i left an opening so that the wire can be pulled through and an at the top i've added velcro. But it wouldn't be that cute without the owl on the front ❤

Dit stond al een tijdje op mijn to-do lijstje en ik heb m eindelijk gemaakt :) De linnen stof heb ik uit een pakketje gehaald van 1 van de nummers van Molly makes. Ik wilde graag een ipod in mijn eigen stijl en dit is m geworden :) Onderaan heb ik een opening gelaten zodat het draad van de koptelefoon er doorheen kan en bovenaan zit een stukje klittenband zodat de ipod er niet uit kan vallen. Maar hij zou lang niet zo leuk zijn zonder het lieve uiltje op de voorkant ❤

Ladies night oh what a night...

Everything happend at once... my father in law was allowed to go home at the same night that i had this night. So our hallway was full with my crafts in boxes and my mother in law was packing at the same time. I'm so happy that everything went well and he's now recovering at home. My mother in law was here for a week, so yesterday it was time for cleaning and the laundry. For today i'm doing the same and later on i will be going out for the groceries, but before i do that i wanted to share a few peeks of my booth from the ladies night. My booth turned out to be smaller then expected, but we managed. My mom was so sweet to help me & we had a fun time :)

Ineens ging alles tegelijk... mijn vader mocht namelijk dinsdagavond naar huis en dat viel precies tegelijk met de ladies night. Terwijl ik onze hal volzette met handgemaakte spullen in dozen, was mijn schoonmoeder haar spullen aan het pakken. Ik ben zo blij dat alles goed is gegaan en dat mijn schoonvader lekker thuis kan herstellen. Gedurende de operatie en het herstel heeft mijn schoonmoeder bij ons gelogeerd, dus gister was het echt even schoonmaak tijd. Vandaag weer verder wasjes, draaien, stofzuigen, badkamer schoonmaken je kent het wel ;) Maar voordat ik boodschapjes ga doen wilde ik even wat foto's laten zien van de ladies night. De kraam was wat kleiner dan verwacht, dus het was even passen en meten. Mijn moeder heeft me geholpen en het was super gezellig :)

Hi, i just wanted to say for thanks for the sweet responds and comments over at my blog and on twitter. The operation went well, but my father in law has to stay in the hospital. For these surgery's you will have to stay in the hospital for 7-10 days. My mother in law has been staying here since Tuesday and we don't know yet when they are going home. So as you can imagine i hardly have time to blog and read other blogs. However i do manage to craft from time to time :) Tuesday i will be at a ladies Night in a local garden centre to sell my creations. So far i've heard that more then 600 people signed up for it!! Hoi, ik wilde jullie bedanken voor jullie lieve berichtjes op mijn blog en op twitter. De operatie van mijn schoonvader is goed gegaan, maar hij moet nog wel in het ziekenhuis blijven. Voor deze operatie staat altijd 7 tot 10 dagen. Mijn schoonmoeder is sinds dinsdag bij ons in huis en we weten nog niet wanneer ze weer naar huis gaat. Ik heb dus weinig tijd om te bloggen en blogs te lezen, maar ik heb toch lekker kunnen frobelen dat dan weer wel :) As dinsdag is de ladies night op tuincentrum Baars en daar heb ik onwijs veel zin in. Lekker mijn (kerst)creaties verkopen. Er hebben zich inmiddels meer dan 600 mensen aangemeld!! Heel fijn weekend en tot snel :D liefs, Vera

I saw this bag a while ago & i'm still so in love it! The camera bags are available in different pretty colors, that i find hard to choose from. I'm going to put it on my gift list and maybe Santa will toss it under the tree ;)

Sadly i won't be going to the craft fair 'Artistieke Handen' tomorrow. This has to with the fact that my father in law will be having surgery after this weekend. Last summer he felt something at his heart and it appears to be that a string of his heart valve snapped. So he will be getting a open heart surgery & as you probably will understand i'm not sure if i will be blogging this week. Wishing you a lovely weekend & Halloween!! XO. Vera

Helaas ga ik morgen niet naar de Artistieke Handen beurs in Apeldoorn. Mijn schoonvader wordt nl na het weekend geopereerd aan zijn hart. Afgelopen zomer voelde hij iets bij zijn hart en dat bleek een geknapte draad te zijn van zijn hartklep. Om dit te kunnen repareren zal hij een open hart operatie moeten ondergaan. Zoals je wel zult begrijpen weet ik niet of ik zal bloggen deze week. Ik wens je een heel fijn weekend en voor degenen die het vieren ook een fijne Halloween! Liefs, Vera

Mijn superhero foto cursus, die ik online volgde is helaas al weer bijna voorbij. Door de cursus heb ik weer een frisse kijk en nieuwe ideetjes opgedaan om betere foto's te maken. Lekker kunnen 'spelen' met licht, diepte, zelfportretten maken en vanuit verschillende hoeken fotograferen, heerlijk! Tijdens de cursus heb veel foto's genomen dus ik vond het moeilijk om er voor deze post 5 uit te kiezen, maar het is gelukt :) Als je het leuk vindt om meer foto's te zien, klik dan hier.

After buying Molly makes 1 and 2 in digital versions, i asked Becky if she could get her hands on a real magazine. I'm sorry for the digital magazine lovers, but it's really not my thing. I want to hold my magazine while sitting on the couch, carry it around and cuddle it :P I was over the moon so happy when not only i received a beautiful handmade blanket, but also two Molly makes magazines ❤ Sadly number 1 and 2 aren't available anymore, but it was possible to buy number 5 and 6 & to be sure i wouldn't miss another number i subscribed for a year :) I was so happy to read that it's also possible to get this English magazine delivered if you live in Europe. Ik heb de eerste twee nummers van Molly makes digitaal aangeschaft en aan Becky gevraagd of ze aan 'echte' nummers kon komen. Sorry voor de digitale liefhebber, maar het is niet mijn ding. Ik wil mijn tijdschrift lekker vasthouden, ermee op de bank zitten, mee kunnen nemen en knuffelen :P Het was dan ook superleuk dat ik van Becky niet alleen een mooi handgemaakt kleed kreeg, maar ook nog 2 nummers van Molly Makes ❤ Nummer 1 en 2 zijn helaas niet meer verkrijgbaar, maar ik heb nummer 5 en 6 wel kunnen kopen. Aangezien ik geen nummer meer wil missen ben ik lid geworden voor een jaar. I've been wanting to make this post for a little while but everytime something else came up, so finally! It has to do with my Jip & Janneke adventure, if you don't know what i'm talking about you can read it here :) Becky made this blanket as a thank you gift & as you can see it fits PERFECT in our house :) Before she started working on the blanket she asked which colors i would like. I requested pink, grey, purple and white, but that it would match this perfect we didn't know :DSince the days are getting colder i've already used it while sitting on the couch drinkin' tea & it's so cozy and warm, i love it ❤

Het kwam er maar niet van om deze post te maken, maar dan nu eindelijk! Een vervolg op mijn Jip & Janneke avontuur van even geleden. Als je niet weet wat ik bedoel, kun je het hier nog lezen :) Becky heeft dit geweldige kleed gemaakt om mij te bedanken & het past echt PERFECT in ons huis :) Ze had wel gevraagd welke kleuren ik graag wilde en ik had roze, grijs, paars en wit aangegeven, maar dat het zo perfect zou passen wisten we niet :D Inmiddels heb ik er al een paar keer onder gezeten, lekker knus op de bank met een kopje thee ❤

It took me a while to decide about what i was going to make as a gift for the goodiebags at the gardencentre. You see at the Star night (ladies only) i will be selling my things in a magical Christmas sphere. Most of the other sellers are from bigger stores and for me with my small budget i really had to do some thinkin'. As you probably read a few posts back i started stamping on wooden cloth pins :) I already finished 200, so i still have to make another 300 :P You can also use other (clear) stamps, (spray) paint them, add glitters, use your nail polish (see here at Elsie's post). I kept it plain and simple since i have to make 500 of them, but make you can make them more sparkly & funky use them on ✶ Great to use them on your Christmas gifts or hang your Christmas cards with these pretties on some silver yarn or a pretty ribbon. Have fun!

Ik heb er echt even over na moeten denken wat ik zou gaan maken voor de goodiebag van de Star Night. Op de Star Night (ladies only) is het tuincentrum geheel in kerstsfeer, dus vond ik het wel leuk om iets kerstigs te verzinnen. Met een klein budget toch een leuk cadeautje verzonnen vind ik zelf :) Inmiddels heb ik er 200 gestempeld, dus ik moet er nog 300 :P Ik heb mijn wasknijpers simpel gehouden, aangezien ik er 500 moest maken, maar je kunt ze ook: verven, zilver spuiten, bestrooien met glitter of nagellak gebruiken (kijk voor het nagellak idee op Elsie's blog) Superleuk om te gebruiken bij je december cadeautjes of om je kerstkaarten aan op te hangen :) Veel plezier!

DIY -felt leafs-

You will need:

- orange, green, yellow or red felt

-embroidery thread in similar colors

-sewing needle

-scissors

-paper and marker if you would like to make a model

Je hebt nodig:

-oranje, groen, geel en/of rood vilt

-borduurdraad in dezelfde kleuren

-naald

-schaar

-papier en stift voor het maken van een mal

Draw a leaf on a piece of paper with a marker and cut it out

Teken met stift een blaadje op een papiertje en knip m uit

Draw them on to your felt two times (back & front) & cut them out

Teken de omtrek 2x op je vilt (voor de voor en achterkant) en knip ze uit

Do a simple backstitch in the middle of your leave. Then take your other leaf and put it over the one you already have & stitch them together by using the blanket stitch. Fun, easy and pretty :)

Maak een stiksteek in het midden van je blaadje. Leg daarna je andere blaadje erop en maak ze aan elkaar door de festonsteek te gebruiken. Leuk en makkelijk om te maken :)

Make a cute fall display or you can make lot's of leafs and put them in a bowl.

Maak een leuk herfst tafereeltje of maak meerdere blaadjes en leg ze samen in een schaaltje.

Hi :) Hope you are having or had a great weekend :) For today a little peek of my latest crafts that i will be selling at the upcoming markets. The first one is at the 30th of October at Artistieke Handen (Apeldoorn), then at the 8th of November at the Ladies night at the gardencentre Baars (Nieuwegein) and then at the end of November at Buurcentrum de Brink (Nieuwegein).

Hoi :) Hopelijk heb je lekker genoten van het heerlijke weer en een fijn weekend gehad :) Voor vandaag heb ik een paar foto's van mijn laatste creaties die ik gemaakt heb voor de aankomende markten. DIY -embroidery hoop with owl-

To make this embroidery hoop with owl you will need:

- a (wooden) embroidery hoop

- (orange) embroidery thread

- a needle

- fabric glue

- green, orange, red and brown felt

- some leftover fabric

- scissors

- iron application of an owl

- orange ribbon (for the top)

You start by cutting out 1 big round out of your red felt (use the inner hoop size!)
Draw a trunk of a tree on to your brown felt and cut it out.
Then draw a few leafs on your green and orange felt and cut them out too.
Organize your trunk, leafs and owl on the felt round & when your happy with the result, glue the trunk and leafs on to the round.
Then iron your application on too, yay i like that!
Embroider round the edges and do it as you like. I used a simple stitch and left some space, but you can also do a double stitch, a back stitch or even a blanket stitch. For more inspiration look here.
Glue your round on the fabric.
Slide your fabric in to the inner hoop and secure it in place. Cut of the fabric that you don't need anymore. You can choose to cut it short or you can leave a little fabric & fold it back and add some glue.
Slide your ribbon through the top, make a knot and your hoop is ready to ROCK :)

Wil je ook zo'n borduurring maken met een uil?

Dit heb je nodig:

- een (houten) borduurring

- oranje borduurdraad

- een naald

- textiellijm

- groen, oranje, rood en bruin vilt

- restje stof

- schaar

- strijkapplicatie van een uil

- oranje lint

Gebruik de binnenkant van de borduurring als mal voor het maken van je rode vilten rondje en knip deze uit.
Pak je bruine vilt en teken een tak erop met stift en knip m uit.
Teken dan een paar blaadjes op het oranje en groene vilt en knip ze ook uit.
Leg je vilten tak en blaadjes op het rode vilten rondje en kijk hoe je het mooi vindt. Als je tevreden ben, lijm dan alles vast.
Nu kun je de applicatie erop strijken.
Tijd voor een stukje borduren :) Ik heb een simpele borduursteek gebruikt maar je kunt natuurlijk ook een mooie festonsteek gebruiken. Voor meer borduursteken kijk hier
Lijm je vilten rondje op je stof.
Doe je borduurringen uitelkaar en doe je stof om de kleine ring, daarna plaats je ring weer terug en trek je je stof strak. Kijk of het vilten rondje goed in het midden zit.
Knip de uiteinden van de stof af. Je kunt dat op twee manieren doen 1) kort knippen en zo laten zitten of 2) iets meer overlaten en dan naar binnen vouwen en vastplakken.
Knoop je lintje vast bovenaan, knoopje erin en je kunstwerkje kan aan de muur :)
